A photo has captured smoke pouring from the roof of a Crook home as firefighters tackle a blaze.
Emergency services were called to a property on Garden Houses in the town at 3.55pm on Monday (September 9) afternoon after a fire broke out.
Members of the public were advised to keep their windows and doors shut by the County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service, which confirmed it had two appliances from Crook and Bishop Auckland at the scene.
An image taken from the incident shows three firefighters stood beside the property, pointing a hose reel into the upstairs window of the home as smoke pours from the roof and out the front door.
