This North East petrol station could be one of the UK’s cheapest with fuel on sale for less than 130p.
Petrol prices hit record highs two years ago and have fallen to their lowest levels in almost three years after a drop in wholesale costs.
But some forecourts have been slashing prices since with Hedworth Services in Jarrow, which only opened in August, cutting theirs to just 128.5p per litre on Monday (September 9).
It means motorists can refill their tanks for a whole 10.9p less than the national average at the 24-hour site off Leam Lane.
Meanwhile, diesel is on sale for 134.5p per litre, almost 10p than the average price across the UK.
The last time prices were that as low nationally was in October 2021.
The Esso-branded services said: “We hope everyone has a great week – let’s start it off right with another fuel price drop.”
It joins the G.W. Holmes & Son garage in Bishop Auckland in offering cheap petrol and diesel. The County Durham petrol station has been cutting prices for two years, consistently trying to offer drivers cheap juice for their cars.

It comes after the RAC recently warned retailers had not cut prices despite a drop in the wholesale cost of fuel.
At the end of August the motoring organisation said it was aware of retailers undercutting their supermarket rivals, sparking the big chains to slash their prices.
It said that a newly opened forecourt in Portlethen in Scotland was selling petrol and diesel for 16p less than its nearest Asda, leading the supermarket to cut its prices to march.
