Strange white lights and triangular objects in the sky are among some of the close encounters with unidentified flying objects (UFOs) readers of The Northern Echo have been sharing.
Reported incidents range from humorous to intriguing, as locals recalled mysterious meetings with unidentified flying objects across the North East.
David Anthony shared an account of spotting massive black triangle aircrafts flying through the sky in Darlington in 2020.
He said: "1.40am, Lansdowne Street, Darlington, I was in the back yard I noticed two black massive triangle crafts one behind the other stationary 250 to 300 feet above it remained there still for couple of mins for me and my pal to witness.
"A white small ball of light appeared at the rear super fast and flew along side the two triangle-shaped objects then they started to move very slow, 10 miles-an-hour I'd say, no noise at all, totally silent".

However, not everyone believes.
Julian Rafferty argued, "There are no such things. Utter drivel".
Some took the opportunity to joke, with Michael Wilde saying he thought he saw a UFO but "on closer inspection, the object shining in the sky was a seagull flying off with a bit of space blanket after the Great North Run".
