It is set to be a wet and overcast Monday across Darlington and County Durham today as Met Office forecasters predicts showers.

Autumnal weather is starting to have an affect in the region as darker nights roll in and we experience an influx of rather wet and grey weather.

Today, temperatures will reach a high of 17C and a low of 12C - with the sun set to make a clouded appearance from 1pm onwards.

Following this unsettled start to the week, the forecaster has stated that “a band of rain” will hit the region from Tuesday morning as they predict lows of 8C.

The forecaster predicts: “Rather cloudy and dull start with outbreaks of rain and drizzle gradually easing away. Some brighter intervals developing, with afternoon sunny spells likely.

“Temperatures near normal for early September, but rather breezy. Maximum temperature 16 °C.”
