Fire crews were called to a derelict Middlesbrough building after a late-night blaze broke out.
Emergency services were called to Middlesbrough Road, in South Bank, on Friday after a fire took hold of an empty building around 9pm.
A cordon was erected by fire crews across the street, and four fire engines from Middlesbrough and Grangetown, including an aerial platform, were sent to the scene.
Pictures circulating online show red and white fire tape across the road while firefighters use the platform to inspect the roof of the property.
Cleveland Fire Brigade has confirmed that there was 50% fire damage to the first floor and 20% fire damage to the roof space, with 100% smoke damage to the remainder of the property.
