Four people have been hospitalised after a car was flipped onto its roof following a two-vehicle crash at a Durham retail park.

The incident happened just after 4.30pm at the Dragonville Retail Park on Dragon Lane.

The crash happened between a van and a car but thankfully nobody suffered any serious injuries.

Recovery has been organised to get the vehicles off the road.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision at Dragonville Retail Park in Durham shortly before 4.30pm this afternoon (6 September).

"We dispatched one ambulance crew, a clinical team leader and a duty officer, and transported four people to the University Hospital of North Durham."

A Durham Police spokesperson said: "We were called to Dragonville Retail Park just after 4.30pm to reports of a two-vehicle collision involving a van and a car.

"It is not believed there were any serious injuries and recovery has been organised."
