Fly-tipping, potholes and inconsiderate parking can be awful if it's affecting the street you live on or somewhere near where you work. 

From blocking people into parking on yellow lines, and from a big pothole that can burst your tyre to loads of rubbish that attract rats, it's equally annoying. 

On FixMyStreet, which takes complaints from the public and maps them, there have been plenty of issues noted over the last few months. 

According to FixMyStreet, these are the most annoying issues that are taking over County Durham and Darlington.

Top five most complained-about issues in County Durham:

Sunk pothole

This issue, which was flagged on FixMyStreet, shows a large pothole on Hawthorn Terrace/Holly Street in Durham, which has seemingly sunk in the middle. 

Complaining about the issue on the site, the complainant said: "It has been filled in previously but has massively sunk recently."

Fly-tipping in alleyway

In a separate issue, another person has complained about fly-tipping on Leeholme Road in Coundon/Leeholm - which has reportedly attracted rats. 

The fly-tipping, which has been left in the alleyways near Leeholme Road has been seemingly ditched for a while. 

Posting on Fix My Street, the complainant said: "There is rubbish that has been left - It's disgusting and rats have been seen."

Lack of lighting on Darlington street

This next issue has seen a resident complain about the lack of light between Pensbury Street and Huntley Street, which is a pedestrian-only area - but with uneven surfaces, the person claims it is an "accident waiting to happen".

On Fix My Street, they said: "Between Pensbury Street and Huntley Street is pedestrian access. However, when used at night it is completely black. The darker photo attached is taken in night mode whilst the other is with flash.

"The ground here is uneven and there are bollards which are not visible at night leading to me tripping and stumbling without a torch.

"Either the lighting needs to be improved here or the trees need cutting back so the limited Lighting that exists can spread better. This is an accident claim waiting to happen."

On this occasion, this person has complained about blocked drains and weeds near Park Lane in Darlington.

According to the complainant, the issue is making the road "dangerous" because the drain is backing up and mud/sludge is starting to form on the street.

Dumped tyres

The final complaint found on FixMyStreet is a load of dumped tyres. 

According to the person who is complaining about it, there are around 15 tyres that have been ditched near Sadberge, Darlington. 

On FixMyStreet, the person said: "Heading from Sadberge approximately 200 metres past Dogs Trust on the right-hand side, in the long grass, there are these tyres."
