County Durham's motorists will have a number of road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Several of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows the closures already in place which are expected to carry on this week:

• A19, from 8pm June 17 to 5am September 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound, B1320 Peterlee Interchange, slip road closure and lane closures for electrical works.

• A66, from 8pm August 27 to 6am September 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, The Street, junction to Low Broats, traffic signals and lane closures for GoFibre technology works.

• A66, from 8pm August 27 to 6am September 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, North Bitts to Rokeby, traffic signals and lane closures for GoFibre technology works.

• A167, from 8pm August 5 to 6am September 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1M northbound and southbound, junction 59 Bradbury, carriageway closures and lane closure for lighting renewal.

• A66, from 8pm April 22 to 6am October 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Lingfield Point, lane closures for horticulture works.

• A19, from 8pm July 22 to 6am December 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A19 north and southbound, A182 Easington to B1320 Peterlee Interchange, temporary 50 mph speed limit.

• A19, from 8pm September 18 2023 to 5.30pm February 25 2025, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 north and southbound, A182 Cold Hesledon Interchange, carriageway and lane closures for maintenance works.

And a further seven closures to avoid over the next two weeks:

• A195(M), from 8am September 5 to 4.30pm September 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M northbound and southbound, junction 63 to junction 65, mobile lane closure for maintenance works.

• A19, from 8pm September 9 to 6am September 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A19 northbound. A1086 to B1320 Peterlee Interchange. Carriageway closure for Electrical works.

• A1(M), from 8pm September 10 to 6am September 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1(M) northbound and southbound, junction 62 to junction 63, lane closure for maintenance works.

• A1(M), from 8am September 11 to 4.30pm September 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1(M) northbound and southbound, junction 62 to junction 63, mobile lane closure for maintenance works.

• A19, from 8pm September 13 to 6am September 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A19 northbound, at A1086 Easington. Carriageway closure for Electrical Work.

• A19, from 8pm September 16 to 5am September 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A19 southbound, Between A1086 Easington and Peterlee. Carriageway closure for Electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
