A person was cut free from a car after a two-vehicle crash in Grangetown.
Emergency services were called to Birchington Avenue, near its junction with Slater Road, on Thursday after two cars collided.
Cleveland Fire Brigade confirmed that two fire engines were sent to the scene, with one person being freed from a vehicle and handed over to the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS).
The ambulance service said one person was treated at the scene while another was taken to the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough. Their condition remains unknown.
Pictures from the scene online show a black and white car facing each other, taken around 2.15pm, with the white vehicle's airbags appearing to have deployed.
A NEAS spokesperson said: "We were called shortly before 2pm to a two-vehicle road traffic collision at the junction of Slater Road and Birchington Avenue, Middlesbrough.
"We dispatched a double-crewed ambulance and a clinical team leader. One person was treated and discharged at the scene and another was taken to James Cook Hospital."
A fire service spokesperson said: “Cleveland Fire Brigade were called on 05/09/2024 at 2.24pm to an incident on Slater Road, Grangetown.
"This was a road traffic collision involving two cars. Two fire engines were in attendance from Grangetown. One casualty was extricated from the vehicle and handed over to NEAS.

Cleveland Police previously said: "Birchington Avenue is currently closed in both directions from King View Road to Grangetown Football Club following a collision.
"Please avoid the area where possible and try to take another route. Thank you for your patience."
