An operation to tackle off-road bikes involving Middlesbrough Neighbourhood officers and Cleveland Police Matrix Team was carried out on Tuesday 3rd September.
A joint operation was carried out to tackle illegal off-road bikes and clamp down on those causing misery by riding bikes antisocially in local communities. Information and intelligence were gathered by the officers, which will be acted upon.
Sergeant Scott Pearson from Cleveland Police Matrix Team said: “The Matrix Team will continue working in partnership with neighbourhood policing teams to target those who cause harm to others using illegal off-road bikes by utilising specialist resources, such as vehicles, stingers and drones, alongside sharing local knowledge and intelligence from our neighbourhood colleagues to target specific areas.”
Acting Sergeant Dan Smythe, from Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We receive a lot of complaints from the community about off-road bikes and we know that this is something which has a big impact on our residents.
“We are acting upon the communities’ concerns and welcome any information around off-road bikes, where they are being stored and who may be using them illegally.”
Anyone with information regarding off-road bikes, where they may be being stored and those riding them illegally, can contact Cleveland Police on 101.
