An investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed and slashed in a vicious attack.

Emergency services were called to Bishopton Road in Stockton at around 8pm on Tuesday.

Police were contacted by ambulance crews and have started an inquiry.

A spokesman for Cleveland Police said: “Officers were called to Bishopton Road in Stockton by ambulance service colleagues at around 8pm on Tuesday night (September 3) following reports of an assault.

“A man was located with stab wounds and a slash wound and he was treated by paramedics.

“His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.”

Enquiries are currently ongoing.
