The top ten restaurants in the North East have been revealed as a shortlist for this year's Uber East best venues awards. 

The restaurants, which appear on the Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year Awards 2024, are said to spotlight and champion small restaurant businesses across the UK.

Inside the restaurants, Sliceburg in Darlington, MyDelhi in Newcastle, Pizza Globe in Newcastle, and other appear in the list of the top ten. 

This year, Uber Eats is going bigger than ever, as chef, television and radio broadcaster Andi Oliver joins the esteemed judging panel.

Andi is set to bring her warmth and expertise to this year’s panel and infuse the Awards with her love of food, community and connection.

The shortlist for North East includes:

  • Sliceburg
  • My Delhi
  • Pizza Globe
  • Grill N Chill
  • Geisha Asia
  • 40 Ounce
  • Little Lobo
  • Pho 179
  • Dot Bagel

Over 40 cuisine types are represented within the 130 restaurants that will be going head-to-head for the £100,000 grand prize in November.

But first, food lovers across the UK and Ireland can visit ubereatsawards.com to vote for their favourite shortlisted restaurants until October 4.

Finalists will then be invited to create their hero dish for the panel of expert judges, which will decide who walks away with £100,000 to invest in their business.

To show their commitment to the industry, Uber Eats is also offering all regional winners a £5,000 prize alongside a support package to help accelerate their businesses' growth.
