A Yarm pensioner has died following a crash in Cumbria.
Officers were called to the A685 - near the small village of Grayrigg - on August 22 after a blue Vauxhall Astra was involved in a one-vehicle collision.
The incident, which took place around 5.20pm, saw the 85-year-old driver and her 89-year-old passenger rushed to hospital.
Cumbria Police has now confirmed that Ronald Simpkins, of Yarm, sadly died on Saturday, August 24. The driver of the car has since been released from hospital.
Officers are aware of several witnesses at the scene, some of whom offered help and support to the driver and passenger. They are keen to hear from those people to help with their investigation.
