One person was taken to hospital after a three-car crash on Yarm Road in Darlington.

The collision involving a Nissan Juke, Vauxhall Zafira and VW Caddy happened at about 5.15pm on Monday (September 2) near the Toby Carvery.

Police, paramedics and fire crews attended and the road closed. One person was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital for treatment.

It is understood they only sustained minor injuries.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called to a road traffic collision yesterday (2 September) on Yarm Road in Darlington shortly after 5.15pm. We dispatched one ambulance crew and one rapid response vehicle to the incident, and one patient was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital.”
