A popular fast food outlet closed due to problem with drainage is expected to be reopened later today. (Monday)

The American burger giant, McDonald’s, in Stanley was closed at around 5pm on Saturday.

Now the firm has said it hopes to be serving customers again soon.

A spokesman said: “The McDonald’s restaurant on Clifford Road in Stanley is temporarily closed due to a drain issue that has impacted the premises.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and have been working with experts to resolve the problem.

“The restaurant will reopen this afternoon, following the completion of all sanitation processes and necessary hygiene checks.”
