Two people have been injured after an 'XL Bully' attack in Newton Aycliffe.
Officers were called to Silkin Way on Saturday evening after reports that a dog had attacked two people in the street.
The incident took place shortly after 7.55pm when two dogs, believed to be XL Bullies, escaped from the garden of a property.
Durham Constabulary said one of the dogs bit a man and woman on their legs, leaving the victims with puncture wounds.
The dog has since been signed over to the force and will now be destroyed.

A spokesperson said: "Officers were called shortly after 7.55pm on Saturday (August 31) following reports a dog had attacked two people in Silkin Way, Newton Aycliffe.
"Two dogs, believed to be XL Bullies, had got out of their garden, with one of them biting a man and a woman on their legs, leaving them with puncture wounds.
"The dog was signed over to police and will be destroyed."
