On Saturday (August 31), hundreds of cinemas across the UK, including in County Durham, are coming together for National Cinema Day.
Cinema-going is one of the nation’s favourite out-of-home leisure activities and National
Cinema Day celebrates every aspect of the big screen experience.
Everyone is invited to visit on the day to enjoy the sights, sounds and total escapism you can only get from a trip to your local cinema.
Participating sites are offering tickets to all screenings from just £4.
Many cinemas are showing a mix of recently-released films, as well as bringing back much- loved classics, many of which may not have been shown on the big screen in many years.
With children going back to school next week, parents will be looking for last-minute plans for the final weekend of the school holidays.

With the school holidays so far potentially being a strain on finances, parents may be looking for something a little cheaper - with National Cinema Day giving people the opportunity to go to the cinema for £4.
We have listed all of the participating cinemas in County Durham, Teesside, and Tyne and Wear that people can visit for as little as £4.
While the prices do start at £4, some prices might be higher than £4 but will be discounted compared to other days.
