A football fan who is accused of breaking a fellow England supporter's jaw at the Euro 2024 tournament has been banned from attending games.
Josh Waugh was caught on camera footage involved in disorder outside the ground in Gelsenkirchen at around 10pm on June 16.
The 34-year-old was identified by police officers but was not charged with any offence by the German authorities.
Teesside Magistrates’ Court heard how the England fan had been to the Euro 24 match between England-Serbia.
Cleveland Police applied for a Civil Football Banning Order after the man suffered a broken jaw and suspected fractured nose.
District Judge Marie Mallon read written submissions from the force and Waugh’s solicitor, Nick Ayres, before banning him from attending matches home and abroad for three years.
Waugh, of Conway Road, Redcar, had contested the application to the ban and a court had heard how he had not been charged or even spoken to by the police about the alleged assault.
Mr Ayres branded the application as ‘unfair’ after his client kept out of of trouble since June.

He said: “It would be unjust to impose a football banning order against Mr Waugh.
“There has been no trouble since an interim order was imposed.”
Imposing the ban, Judge Mallon said: “It has not been disputed that you were the individual in this image. This was a very serious assault.
“Football banning orders are imposed for far less serious behaviour and in reality, it is due to impact these offences have on fans at other events.”
