Police have launched an investigation after a gun was fired on a County Durham street - sparking armed response units to descend on the scene.
Officers from Durham Police, including the armed response unit, were called to Station Road in West Auckland on Tuesday, July 24, following reports of a firearm discharge.
It's understood that the armed response officers descended on the scene, near the Spar shop in West Auckland, with other police officers closing off parts of the area during the incident.
Durham Police has confirmed that no one was injured during the incident, and an investigation is currently ongoing.
No arrests have currently been made in connection to the incident.

A spokesperson for Durham Police said: "Police received reports of a firearms discharge on Station Road, West Auckland on Tuesday (July 24).
"Nobody is believed to have been injured.
"An investigation into the incident is currently ongoing."
