A man has been charged in connection with a house explosion in Middlesbrough earlier this summer.
Emergency services flooded Kirkland Walk, on the Middlesbrough outskirts, after a house was reduced to rubble on June 18.
A 57-year-old suffered serious burns after a horror blast tore through his semi-detached home. He was airlifted to the RVI in Newcastle, and a month after the explosion, remained in a "critical but stable" state.
Now, the man has been charged with arson reckless to endanger life, and two counts of assault on an emergency worker, in connection with an explosion.

He will appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court today.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "The man is charged with arson reckless to endanger life and two counts of assault on an emergency worker. He is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today, Thursday, August 29.
"A man who was in hospital following the incident has now been released following treatment."
