Darlington's drivers will have two road closures to avoid this weekend and three in the next couple of weeks.

All of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A66, from midnight, August 12 to midnight, August 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Blands Corner roundabout to Neasham Road roundabout, diversion route and signage for works off network.

• A66, from 8pm April 22 to 6am October 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Lingfield Point, lane closures for horticulture works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A66, from 8pm September 2 to 6am September 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound, Little Burdon to Sadberge, lane closure for Vehicle safety fence repair.

• A66, from 8pm September 6 to 6am September 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Blackwell Bypass to Blands Corner, traffic signals for maintenance works.

• A66, from 8pm September 9 to 6am September 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Croft Railway Bridge to Maidendale Railway Bridge, traffic signals and lane closure for drainage survey works for area scheme.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
