Three people - including two teenage boys - have been arrested after a man was attacked by a gang outside of a town centre bar.

The assault took place near Loons Bar, on Victoria Road, in Hartlepool, when the victim, a 19-year-old man, was attacked by the gang around 5.15am on Sunday (August 25).

Two boys, aged 15, and a 22-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of violence and have all since been released on conditional bail, Cleveland Police confirmed.

Officers are now appealing for numerous members of the public, who were in the area at the time and intervened to help, to come forward.

PC Connor Bide, from Hartlepool Police, said: “Since the man was assaulted, we have been following numerous lines of enquiry including reviewing CCTV footage on that street.

“Following this I can see members of the public were present at the time the attack occurred and intervened to help the teenager.
