The back of a County Durham property was pictured up in flames over the weekend as firefighters say the cause of the fire is "unknown".
The yard of a home on Melrose Crescent in Seaham was pictured up in flames on Sunday (August 25) after a fire broke out that spread to a bush and fence.
One fire crew attended the scene of the fire, but the reason why it broke out is "unknown".
Footage shows the flames extending up towards the roof of a home.
A spokesperson for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said: “At approximately 7:20pm last Sunday (August 25), our control room received a call reporting a fire in Melrose Crescent, Seaham.
“One fire engine from Seaham Fire Station attended the scene. On arrival, crews found bushes well alight, which had spread to fencing. Firefighters used a high-pressure hose reel to extinguish the fire.
“The crew left the scene shortly after 7:45pm. The cause of the fire is unknown.”
