Police have launched an investigation in Stockton after a woman arrived at hospital with injuries.

Glove-wearing officers were captured searching the front garden of a property on Ingleton Road, in Stockton, on Sunday morning following an incident.

This came after police were called to reports of concern for a woman who had attended hospital by ambulance with injuries.

Pictures from the scene showed a large police van parked outside the home - with an eyewitness describing how CID were carrying out door to door enquiries throughout the day.

One resident told The Northern Echo that she had "no idea" what took place, describing how she first noticed the police cars "when she woke up this morning".

Another neighbour said he “heard lots of people running up and down the stairs” early in the morning.
