A police operation is continuing after a man climbed onto the roof of a Darlington office building.

Emergency services were called to Coniscliffe Road on Tuesday morning after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man.

A cordon was erected across the street, near the Larchfield Street and Grange Road junctions, with ambulance vehicles, a fire engine, and several police cars pictured at the scene.

The road was taped off at around 6.10am, with firefighters later captured using an aerial platform to reach the roof of the Coniscliffe House office building.

The latest pictures from the scene show several firefighters on the platform speaking to a man on the roof of the block, while several officers and 999 staff stand on the street below.
