Lines are blocked and passengers are experiencing delays after trespassers were spotted on a train tracks County Durham this evening.
Operator TransPennine Express confirmed the news on X, stating that trains through Chester Le Street this evening will be running slower because of the disruption.
Delays are expected to last 15 minutes with normal service expected to return at 8pm.

The operator wrote: "Due to trespassers on the railway at Chester Le Street all lines are blocked. Train services running through this station may be delayed by up to 15 minutes.
"Disruption is expected until 20:00."
The British Transport Police are being contacted for more information.
