Like all good things, they must come to an end. And on Sunday night, whilst rumours of a potential Oasis reunion resonated around Reading Festival via Friday’s Leeds headliner Liam Gallagher, it was time for headliners Fred Again and Lana Del Rey to draw the curtain on another year at Bramham Park.

At the top of the day, Liverpool lads Courting gave a nod to Oasis by segueing a few bars of Don't Look Back in Anger into their main stage set to great effect.

Glaswegian rockers Dead Pony provided a high-octane opening to Sunday's Festival Republic Stage and even kicked off their performance with Voodoo People by Saturday’s Chevron Stage headliners The Prodigy. By the third song in the set, Dead Pony lead singer Anna Shields was up on the security fence whilst firing up the audience. The group have been touring relentlessly in recent times and are certainly one to watch out for on the UK circuit and beyond.

Mid-afternoon with gloomy clouds hanging over Bramham Park the event needed a band to lift the spirits of the festival punters. And US-based outfit Bleachers were the lads for the job.

The band brought with them in tow the distinctive sound of the Jersey shore. Bleachers' relentless energy and sax-fueled sound conjured up images of Bruce Springsteen and the E-street band. The New Jersey-based outfit made their first appearance in Leeds on Sunday and hopefully, it won't be their last. The group delivered one of the standout sets of the whole weekend.

Having performed at the Leeds Festival on the Festival Republic Stage last year, the Last Dinner Party's meteoric rise saw the group upgraded to the main stage this time around. And with a Brit Award win and a Number 1 album under their belts, there is just no stopping them. Songs like The Feminine Urge, My Lady of Mercy and the hit single Nothing Matters illustrated that the band are more than worthy of their quickly expanding treasure trove of accolades and awards.

Elsewhere around the site, emerging Brit rockers Wunderhorse drew a huge crowd on the BBC Introducing Stage. The group was originally scheduled to play on the Radio One Stage, but with the closure of said tent all weekend, it was a slightly more intimate affair for the UK based outfit. Not that their fans minded. Wunderhorses’ new album Midas will be released on Friday.

The beauty of events like the Leeds Festival is discovering new bands. And British five-piece outfit Welly were one of the many great finds at this weekend’s event. The group provided a thoroughly entertaining set, featuring songs about relatable subjects like going shopping or taking a gap year.

Lead vocalist Elliott joked that he usually sounds like Lana, but could be forgiven having performed three shows in the last three days. The group’s sound and aesthetic were reminiscent of the Brit Pop heyday of the 1990s. And if yesterday's Oasis rumours are anything to go by – perhaps it's time for those glory days to return. Only time will tell.

And whilst Sunday was a tad overcast, and a little windy in places, a Raye of sunshine was cast over Bramham Park thanks to the award-winning UK soul singer. Raye sported a look which was evocative of the greats.

The artist was accompanied by an ensemble of roughly forty musicians on stage and collectively they covered every inch of the vast stage. Raye delivered a set that showcased her star power and spellbinding voice whilst simultaneously channelling the energy and aura of the late great Amy Winehouse. Based upon this performance it won’t be long before Raye will be following in the footsteps of the other Rey on the bill, that being Lana and headlining the event in her own right.

Of course, just like the title of one of headliner Lana Del Rey’s many hits – perhaps after the event, Leeds Festival fans will have a case of Summertime Sadness. However, do not despair, time heals all wounds, the annual three-day event will return to Bramham Park next year.
