Darlington tip has been forced to close this morning as winds reach up to 45mph in parts of the North East.
Storm Lillian is already having an impact across the county today (August 23) and has forced the closure of the town's tip.
The town is experiencing strong gusts, and a yellow weather warning has been put in place for parts of the North East.
The council have decided that it would be best to close the tip as a safety precaution.
They hope to reopen it tomorrow morning and have apologised for any inconvenience.
