A housebuilder has secured permission to build 92 homes in a North Yorkshire village.

North Yorkshire Council has officially approved Persimmon's plans for the new development in Brompton on Swale, near Richmond.

Homes will range from two to four bedrooms and include bungalows, terraced, semi-detached and detached houses to suit the needs of local families, first-time buyers, and downsizers.

Thirty seven properties (40 per cent) will either be transferred to a local housing association or sold at a reduced market rate.

This will include nine First Homes, 14 homes sold at a discount to market value and 14 affordable rent homes.

Over £300,000 of funding will also be provided for local education provision.

All homes will have electric vehicle charging facilities and PV solar panels, offering reduced CO2 emissions and improved energy efficiency, helping reduce energy bills for homeowners.

The development will provide over 3 acres of public open space and be equipped with a new on-site play area as well as new pedestrian links to the existing Augustus Gardens estate.
