Ladies' Day will take place at Catterick Racecourse next week - with organisers promising racing action, fashion competitions, live music, complimentary cocktails, and free children’s entertainment.
The event will take place at the racecourse on Wednesday, August 28, with gates opening at midday.
Organisers have advised racegoers to arrive early, as the first 100 people to visit the Yorkshire Dales Distillery stand by the Parade Ring will be treated to a complimentary Bramble Berry Gin and Lemonade.
The first of six races will come under starters orders at 2.15pm with the feature race, the 5-furlong Best Odds Guaranteed at Vickers.Bet Handicap Stakes, sponsored by Middleton St George-based bookmakers Vickers Bet, at 4.25pm. The last race is scheduled for 4.55pm.
In between the racing action, racegoers can enjoy live music performed by singer-songwriter Elena Larkin, and fashion enthusiasts can showcase their style in fashion competitions.
Catterick’s 2024 Best Dressed Lady will win a Holiday Getaway Gift Set worth over £200.
The set includes a rattan beach tote, tri-fold purse, travel pouch, mini saddle bag and braided belt, plus a £50 voucher to spend on the Berber Leather website.
The winner of the Best Dressed Lady competition will also go on to represent Catterick in the Go Racing in Yorkshire Best Dressed Final, which will take place online following the last Yorkshire Ladies’ Day of the season at Doncaster Racecourse in September.
Sponsored by Ripon-based hat maker and designer, Fascination by Cherished, the Best Hat Competition winner will receive a £200 voucher for hat hire from Fascination by Cherished.
Emma Stevenson, general commercial manager at Catterick Races, said: “We’re very grateful to our sponsors for providing such fantastic prizes for our Ladies’ Day competitions this year. Ladies’ Day is always such a colourful occasion, and we can’t wait to see all the outfits this year!”

Given that Ladies’ Day falls within the final week of the school holidays, there will also be free children’s entertainment, including a free fall slide, bouncy castle and extreme arena, available in the Course Enclosure throughout the afternoon.
A complimentary shuttle bus service will run between Richmond Market Place and the racecourse, starting one hour before the first race.
Tickets will be available to purchase at the gates on the day, while advanced and group booking discounts are available until midnight on Monday, August 26, either over the phone by calling the racecourse office on 01748 811478 or online here.
