A Met Office spokesperson said: "A largely dry and bright start with increasing cloud cover building from the west.
"Patchy light rain arriving on western hills during the morning continuing to spread east and turning heavy over hills.
"Winds increasing, especially strong over hills. Maximum temperature 19 °C."
