Today we name five people who failed to identify the drivers who were speeding in their vehicles in County Durham.

The cases were heard in Peterlee Magistrates' Court.

Ian Bain, 55, of Fowler Road, Newton Aycliffe, was charged with exceeding the 30 mph limit on January 25 on the B6288 North Road, Spennymoor.

The offence was withdrawn and he was charged with failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of the vehicle when required.

The case was proved and he was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £1,014. Driving record endorsed with 6 points.

Antony Bramwell, 50, of Foxes Row, Brancepeth, was charged with exceeding the 30 mph speed limit on December 13 2023 on the A167 Aycliffe Village.

The offence was withdrawn and he was charged with failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of the vehicle when required.

The case was found proved and he was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £1,014. Driving record endorsed with 6 points.

Ondrej Hanko, 20, of Bentinck Road, Newcastle, was charged exceeding the 70 mph motorway limit on the A1(M) at Bowburn on January 28.

The offence was withdrawn and replaced with a charged of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver.

The case was found proved and a fine and costs of £1,014 imposed. Driving record endorsed with 6 points.

Leslie Nicholson, 58, of Melrose Drive, St. Helen Auckland, was charged with exceeding the 30 limit on January 24 on the B6284 Etherley Lane.

The offence was withdrawn and replaced with the charge of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver when required.

The case was found proved and a fine and costs of £1,014 imposed.  Driving record endorsed with 6 points.

Andrew Shepherd, 40, of Wharton Close, East Rainton, was charged with exceeding the 70 mph motorway limit on January 26 on the A1(M) J61 Bowburn to J60 Bradbury.

The offence was withdrawn and he was charged with failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver a vehicle when required.

The case was found proved and he was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £1,014. Driving record endorsed with 6 points.
