Nine motorists have been named and fined in court after being caught speeding in County Durham and Darlington.

The cases were heard at Peterlee Magistrates' Court during the last two weeks.

Craig Graham Haggar, 39 of Beech Terrace, Horden, Peterlee, was caught exceeding  the 30 mph limit on January 29 on B6301 Commercial Street, Cornsay Colliery.

The case was found proved and he was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £706. Driving record endorsed with four points.

Jack Liam Morton, 21, of Balaclava Inn, High Street, West Cornforth, was caught exceeding the 30 mph limit on February 18 B1278 Salters Lane - Lillie Terrace, Trimdon Grange. 

The case was found proved and he was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £1,014. Driving record endorsed with six points.

Sarah Patterson, 30, of Devonshire Road, Darlington, was caught exceeding the 30 mph limit on January 26 on the A167, North Road, Harrowgate Hill, Darlington.

She pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £314. Driving record endorsed with four points.

Karn Rutter, 40, of Curlew Close, Washington, was caught exceeding the 70 mph motorway limit on January 21 on the namely A1(M) J61 Bowburn to J60 Bradbury.

The case was found proved and he was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £398. Driving record endorsed with three points.

Pablo Roberto Silve Santos, 19 of Clifton Road, Darlington, was caught exceeding the 30 mph limit on January 26 n Brinkburn Road/Coniston Street, Darlington.

He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £230. Driving record endorsed with three points.

Joanne Davis, 51, of Scholars View, Easington Lane, was caught exceeding the 50mph limit on December 31 2023 on the A690 West Rainton.

He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £575. and fined. Driving record endorsed with three points.

Michael Abbot., 37, of Hill Park Road, Jarrow, was caught exceeding the 30 mph limit on January 17, on A693 Blind Lane, Chester-le-Street.

He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £239. Driving record endorsed with three points.

Leann Thompson, 44, of Rutland Road, Consett, was caught exceeding the 30 mph limit on January 1 on the A693 Blind Lane, Chester-le-Street. 

She pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £415. Driving record endorsed with six points.

Kathryn Eleanor Blakelock, 43, of Gerards Gill, Browney, Durham, was caught exceeding the 30 mph limit on January 17, on the B1283, Hall Walks, Easington Village.

She pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £262. Driving record endorsed with three points.
