A man has been charged with assault and possessing an offensive weapon following violent disorder in Darlington last week.
Mujmain Uddin, 21, of Greenbank Road, Darlington, has been charged with assault, violent disorder, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court this morning (August 16).

A police spokesperson said: “Investigations into the disorder which happened last Monday evening (August 5) are ongoing.
“If you have any information that could assist the investigation, please contact us on 101, or use the live chat function on our website.
