A free leaflet to guide passengers from a heritage railway line station in County Durham to a nearby village has been produced by volunteers.
The Wolsingham Wayfarers, funded by Weardale Area Action Partnership, have produced the leaflet after working with the team based at Weardale Railway.
The aim of the leaflet is to suggest two walks which will take passengers from the railway station at Stanhope into the village.
Councillr Anita Savory, chair of the Weardale Area Action Partnership, said: “The Wolsingham Wayfarers are well renowned for the sterling work they undertake on a voluntary basis.
“The Wolsingham walks have proved to be very popular, and I am delighted to see the new leaflet being launched in conjunction with the Weardale Railway.
"We look forward to it bringing visitors and families into Weardale and promoting the beautiful countryside we have here throughout the seasons."
She added: "It also helps to boost the local economy, it promotes health and wellbeing and there is a social element to this low-cost activity. We are sure the new route around Stanhope will be well received and well used. A very big thank you to all those who have been involved in delivering this exciting new project.”
Tony Slack from The Weardale Railway Trust added: “The heritage railway line is an excellent way for all to experience the natural beauty of Weardale.

"Travelling by train at a leisurely pace beside the River Wear, it is unhindered by traffic, with magnificent views of the dale. The destination of Stanhope offers a vibrant market square, and the leaflet offers opportunities for gentle walking to see what the village has to offer."
