Bored of visiting the same park and there’s nothing showing at the cinema you’re interested in watching with the family?
Why not visit the Metrocentre where the young ones can burn off some energy (without being dragged around the shops).
At the Gateshead shopping facility, there are numerous family-friendly activities they can get involved in – from immersive mini golf to roller skating.

Treetop Golf
Love to explore? “Intrepid explorers” can discover two indoor 18-hole immersive mini golf courses at Treetop Golf.
“Trail crumbling temples, cryptic carvings and stone serpents on the Ancient Explorer, or dodge twisting vines, vibrant locals, and wondrous wildlife on the Tropical Trail,” explains the Metrocentre website.
“Whichever route you choose, don’t forget to take on the Bonus 19th hole – offering all players the chance to win a free game.”
The website adds: “Travellers are invited to take a seat in The Market and sample tropical cocktails and mocktails from The Thirsty Toucan, or grab cracking coffee from the Jungle Buzz Café – both featuring a host of local suppliers.”
Treetop Golf is open seven days a week and offers quiet sessions for mini golfers who prefer a calm environment.
The website shares: “There’s a hush in our rainforest on the second Saturday of every month from 9am - 10am.
“There’ll be no background buzz or strobe lightning, and even the Sacred Mask takes it down to a whisper.”
