JD Gyms has confirmed the opening date for its latest gym on Teesside.
The major chain is set to open a new “world-class” fitness facility in the former TruGym unit at Preston Farm, Stockton, in a matter of days.
Works have been ongoing for several months to transform the site, decking it out with hundreds of cardio, strength, and functional fitness equipment, a free weights zone, and saunas.
Now, the firm has announced that it will be opening the doors to JD Gyms Stockton South on Wednesday, August 28 - with a final wave of 200 discounted places set to go on sale soon.
The chain has also recently uploaded a video offering a behind-the-scenes look at the gym, which looks set to feature stylish decor, sleek LED lights, and plenty of equipment.
The 18,000 sq ft unit - which will be open 24/7 - boasts everything from an Eleiko functional zone and sled track to a dedicated glute area.
It will also host hundreds of classes a month once open, including its bespoke HIIT bootcamp concept aptly titled JD Burn.
It has been 15 months since the last gym-goers walked through the doors of the unit after previous occupant TruGym closed suddenly in May 2023.
The closure came just months after it increased fees, which were blamed on both the aftermath of the Covid pandemic and “extortionate energy price rises".
On Facebook, JD Gyms posted: "Work on site is progressing well and we're excited to open our doors on Wednesday the 28th of August!
"There's going to be loads of great kit in there! A final wave of 200 discounted places go on sale next Monday, August 19, and they'll sell out, so don't miss them!
