An arson investigation has been launched after a car was left burnt out in a Darlington street overnight.
Emergency services were called to Haughton Road in the town just after midnight on Thursday (August 15) morning - following reports of a car on fire.
Crews from County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and extinguished the fire, while police officers were also at the scene.
Officers from Durham Police have since launched an investigation after saying that they are treating the incident as arson.
No one is thought to have been injured during the fire on Haughton Road.
A spokesperson for Durham Police said: "Police were called shortly after midnight this morning (August 15) following reports that a car was on fire on the driveway of a property in Haughton Road.
"Officers are treating the incident as arson and an investigation is underway."

A County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service (CDDFRS) spokesperson added: “Shortly after midnight on Thursday, August 15 we were called to a car fire on Haughton Road in Darlington.
“Two fire engines from Darlington Fire Station were called to tackle the fire.
“Crews then left the scene at 1.08am.”
