Two men have been charged with robbery of a dessert shop in Northallerton after an alleged incident involving a stolen tip jar earlier this month. 

At 7pm on Sunday, August 4, 2024, a robbery at the Dolcie Dessert Emporium on Zetland Street in Northallerton was reported to North Yorkshire Police.

The tips jar and some perishable goods were taken.

Following enquiries from the police force, alongside Cleveland Police and British Transport Police, three men from Middlesbrough were arrested in connection with the incident on Monday (August 12).

Two of the suspects, 48-year-old Graham Simms and 38-year-old Joseph Spencer, both of no fixed address in Middlesbrough, have been charged with robbery and appeared at York Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (August 14).

They have been remanded in custody and will appear at Teesside Crown Court on September 11 at 10.30am.

A 42-year-old man was released without charge.
