One person has been taken to hospital following a crash that saw one of the North East's busiest A roads closed during rush hour.
Police closed off the A19 Northbound near Stockton just after 8am following reports of a crash between two vehicles - causing severe delays for other motorists.
Tailbacks continued whilst police, fire and ambulance services attended the scene for over an hour.
The road has now fully re-opened and traffic is running smoothly.
It has now been confirmed that three people were involved in the crash, one of whom was taken to hospital for further treatment.
A North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic collision this morning (14 August) on A19 Northbound in Stockton-on-Tees at 8:05am.
"We dispatched three ambulance crews to the incident. Two patients were treated and discharged at the scene and one patient was taken to University Hospital of North Tees."
Firefighters from Cleveland Fire Brigade also attended the scene.

A statement reads: "Cleveland Fire Brigade were called on 14/08/2024 at 08.03am to an incident on the A19 flyover Northbound. RTC involving two vehicles.
"Two fire engines from Stockton were in attendance. One casualty was handed over to NEAS. We got the stop at 08.52am."
Cleveland Police have added that "no one was seriously injured" as they thanked motorists for their patience this morning.
