It is set to be a bright and sunny day across the county today as forecasters predict high temperatures of up to 21C.

The warm weather is still set to linger around County Durham and Darlington today (August 14) following a few days of heat and humidity.

Today, temperatures will reach a high of 22C as forecasters predict a very low chance of rain throughout the day.

However, this could be set to change tomorrow as the Met Office has warned of a wet and windy day with increasing cloud on Thursday (August 15).

Showers are set to break out from 12pm and continue throughout the evening and in to FRiday morning.
