A bar and nightclub in Darlington that held regular music nights and hosted some top bands over the years has been remembered.

The building that housed Perrys, Inside Out and Club 2K (or whichever one you remember it as) is linked to some brilliant memories, according to those who used to frequent the venue.

Alongside the bands and artists when it was Inside Out, which included The Futureheads, The Bluetones, Frank Turner, and Kate Nash, people have remembered the DJs and MCs that played when the venue was Perrys and Club 2K.

The venue, which stood on Beaumont Street in Darlington - closed in 2020, having been threatened with the suspension of its alcohol license and concerns over crime with assaults reported there.

But it's the camaraderie, atmosphere, and live music acts that the venue is known for.

After having a reminisce at The Northern Echo, we were keen to ask people about their memories of  Perrys, Inside Out and Club 2K - and they delivered.

Christina Coney Kovacs, a former bar staff member at Perry's reminisced about the "amazing nights and atmosphere" she witnessed while working there.

A similar sentiment was echoed by Anneli Jane Barker who had memorable Thursday nights at the establishment.

Meanwhile, Moira Vernon recollected her experiences in Perry's R&B room which she "loved."

Stu Slim Bell also fondly recalled the R&B tunes spun by "DJ Principal in the basement."

Perrys wasn't the only iteration of the venue that was popular.

Russel T. Wake fondly remembered his time DJing upstairs at Inside Out, with another DJ, Cassie Cooper, spinning records at Club 2K.

Marsha Humble cherished her times at Perrys.
