A County Durham man has been accused of burgling a post office before allegedly stabbing a man in a separate incident.
The 34-year-old man from Horden, who hasn't yet been named by police, reportedly gained entry to the Dulai News and Off Licence in Horden at around 5.15am on Saturday (August 10) and stole several packets of cigarettes and a cash register.

Later the same day, at around 8.15am, a 31-year-old man was allegedly stabbed several times in the leg and buttock, resulting in minor injuries requiring hospital treatment.
Following the incident, Durham Police say that its detectives worked a 26-hour shift to investigate the offences, and were able to secure charges on Monday (August 12) morning.
The 34-year-old man from Horden was charged with wounding with intent, taking a motor vehicle without consent, burglary and theft.
