Dog lovers looking for a new best friend will be happy to learn there are dozens of dogs up for adoption in Darlington.
Dogs Trust Darlington have plenty of rescue dogs looking for a forever home this month.
We have compiled a list of six pups hoping to bring some light into their new owner's lives.
Ralfie
Ralfie is a Weimaraner Cross, a big lad with an equally big personality.
At just one-two-years-old, he is bursting with energy and enthusiasm for life.
Ralfie’s perfect home would be one without other pets or children, where he can be the centre of attention.
His ideal family would be experienced with larger breeds and committed to providing him with plenty of training, exercise, and enrichment games.
With a garden to play in and a family dedicated to channelling his energy positively, Ralfie will undoubtedly thrive and become a loving companion.
Otto
Otto is a two-to-five-year-old unlisted crossbreed, known at the centre for his intelligence and love of mental and physical activities.
He enjoys searching for toys and engaging in tracking training, which keeps his sharp mind busy.
Otto needs a home with no other pets or children, where he can enjoy quiet walks and plenty of playtime.
Otto is a sweet, excitable boy who will bring joy and energy to any home, especially one who appreciates his love for scent training and adventure.
Spud
Spud is an eight year old Terrier (Jack Russell) Cross with a heart full of love and a desire for a peaceful life.
This lovely gentleman prefers quiet walks and needs a home where he can be the only dog.
Spud can live with children aged 10 and over, who will enjoy giving him the fuss he deserves.
He loves snuggles and playtime with his toys, and a secure garden where he can play off-lead would be ideal.
Spud is looking for a calm, loving home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by love and care.
Charlie
Charlie, a one-to-two-year-old Belgian Shepherd Dog (Malinois), is an enthusiastic and lively lad who thrives on activity and training.
He needs a family who loves days out and engaging in training activities.
Charlie is social and enjoys the company of other dogs, making him a great candidate for a home with another playful dog.
He can live with children aged 10 and over, who are confident around lively dogs.
Charlie’s ideal home would be one where he is entertained with plenty of enrichment games and training, helping him to stay happy and healthy.
Pip
Pip, a two-to-five-year-old Border Collie, is a sweet-natured girl who needs an understanding family to help her grow in confidence.
She would benefit from a home with a garden where she can relax and quiet areas for peaceful walks.
Pip can find handling overwhelming and would do best with teenagers aged 15 and over.
She may live with another dog who can help her adjust to her new life.
Pip needs a patient family who will provide her with positive experiences and steady introductions to new things, helping her beautiful personality shine through.
Chelsea
Chelsea, a two-to-five- year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross, is a bundle of energy always looking for fun.
She needs a family who can dedicate most of their day to keeping her entertained and helping her learn to relax.
Chelsea requires basic training and social skills improvement, so a home with older children (16+) who are confident around lively dogs would be best.
