Darlington Pride is back this weekend and there are plenty of activities lined up to entertain the crowds, celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, and create a party atmosphere.

The town will come together tomorrow (Saturday, August 10), with a day of free entertainment, live performers, food and drink, and stallholders.

Before festivities kick off with the Pride march, Dan Westwood will be hosting a "special story time" in Darlington Libraries with craft and LEGO activities from 10am to 11am.

The vibrant annual Pride march will leave Darlington's Market Square at noon to parade around the town centre. Anyone can join in the carnival-style march – just turn up and join the line!

Throughout the day, the main stage will host an array of tribute acts and local musicians, and there will be food stalls, traders, activities and information on local services available for all the family until 6.30pm.

The full lineup will be supported by British Sign Language interpretation ensuring everyone can join in the fun. Town centre venues will be continuing the party into the night.

The lineup on Saturday, August 10, hosted by Dan Westwood, Tess Tickle and Nikki Rett, is:

  • 12noon - Pride March
  • 12.30 Darlington Operatic Society
  • 1pm Young Elton
  • 2pm Lavender Love
  • 2.15pm Little Mix Magic
  • 3.15pm Tiny Temper
  • 3.45pm Making It Madonna
  • 5pm Georgina Sparks & Platform Perform
  • 5.15pm SHE: The Show

On Sunday (11 August), the family fun moves to South Park with the annual Pride in the Park. For the first time, there will be a free Pride bike ride in the park starting at 11am and then the main event will run from noon until 3pm with crafts, face painting, live music, bubbles and storytelling. Guests are advised to bring a picnic and join in the fun.
