An inquest has been opened following the death of a man on the North East rail network.
Vehicle paint technician Callum Clark, 20, from Ushaw Moor, died in County Durham on July 5 after being struck by a train.
The inquest was opened at County Hall in Durham on Wednesday
Home Office pathologist Dr Louise Mulcahy conducted a post-mortem examination at Newcastle Freeman Hospital Mortuary and gave the cause of death as ‘multiple injuries’.
His body was identified by DNA analysis in a report dated July 19.
The inquest has been adjourned pending further investigation.

Mr Clark’s death comes after the deaths of Glenn Jacques and Ben Whiteman who died in similar circumstances earlier this year.
Senior coroner Jeremy Chipperfield has written a Prevention of Future Deaths report urging action to be taken to prevent further deaths on the railway.
