A male has been found dead at a property in Washington after police and the air ambulance were seen in the area.
Officers were called to a house in the Donvale Road area shortly after 9.45am on Wednesday (August 7) to reports of concern for a his welfare.
When they attended a male’s body was found inside.
Northumbria Police said his family has been made aware and do not believe anyone else was involved.
A spokesperson added: “At this early stage, police do not currently believe there to have been any third party involvement.”
Police are currently investigating the full circumstances of his death.
Residents reported seeing the air ambulance coming in to land with several police cars and ambulances descending on the area.
