A County Durham scout group is taking on a walking challenge to raise money for a new minibus.

Heighington Scout Group is aiming to virtually walk the distance to the birthplace of scouting.

The distance from Heighington to Browsea Island in Dorset, the location of the first scout camp, is 330 miles - and the group is attempting to collectively walk that distance.

The idea for the fundraising walk came from one of the group's cubs, eight-year-old Harry Gardiner. The challenge has been going for just over two week and is progressing at some pace as the group closes in on its 330-mile target.
