Plans to create housing on the site of a former Pity Me community centre have been lodged with Durham County Council.
The application seeks to combine the existing ground-floor community hall with existing first-floor living accommodation into a single dwelling, not an HMO, according to a document submitted by Ms Jane Wilkinson.
The application for planning permission, submitted under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, outlines plans for the conversion of the current layout of the building at 27 Woodbine Road in Pity Me, Durham, a mixed-use property incorporating residential and community purposes.
The document notably specifies that there will be no substantial changes to the exterior of the structure, with existing materials for walls, roof, windows and boundary treatments to remain unchanged.

"Proposal to combine an existing ground floor community hall with the existing first-floor residential accommodation into one C3 dwelling," the document lists among its details.
It also indicates there will be no significant impact on local biodiversity or geological conservation and no new roads or rights of way need to be created.
The current use of the building is mixed, with the first floor in residential use and the ground floor vacant, having been the former site of a community hall.
The conversion will see a gain of one residential unit with one bedroom.
