Hundreds of people turned out in Darlington yesterday to enjoy country music in the market square.

Kezia Gill and Hayley McKay wowed the audience with their styles and produced a "great atmosphere".

Kezia has previously opened at Hyde Park for Bruce Springsteen.

Allison McKay, chief executive of the Forum Music Centre, described it as a wonderful evening.

She said: "It was a great event with a great atmosphere.

"People travelled far and wide to come and enjoy it.

"All the artists love playing at the market square. It's good for Darlington to come together and support these performers.

"It was absolutely packed with people. Hayley played a new song of hers - Saviour on a Hill.
